Conscious Discipline

Conscious Discipline is evidence-based and research-backed social and emotional learning based on four essential components scientifically and practically designed for success.

Conscious Discipline Brain State Model
The Conscious Discipline Brain State Model recognized three basic brain/body/mind states likely to produce certain behaviors. Intentional, state-specific responses enable access to advanced skills.

Seven Powers for Conscious Adults
The seven powers create a shift in the way adults see conflict so we can maintain composure and consciously respond to difficult situations. Adults ability to self-regulate is the precursor to teaching children social-emotional skills.

Creating the School Family
The School Family increases connection between adults and children at all levels, ensuring optimal development and learning for all. A School Family culture is built through consistent modeling of routines, rituals, and structures.

Seven Skills of Discipline
These seven skills transform everyday discipline issues into teachable moment, equipping children with the social-emotional and communication skills needed to manage themselves, resolve conflict and develop healthy behavior.

Infant Program (0 - 18 months)

The Frog Street curriculum includes daily age appropriate activities for each child designed to build strong foundations. The program optimizes key windows of opportunity for growth and development, is designed with intention and purpose and organized around developmental learning domains, and practices Conscious Discipline strategies to enhance social and emotional development.

Toddlers (18 - 36 months)

The Frog Street curriculum focuses on enhancing the simple joy of childhood while nurturing curiosity through exploration and incorporates Conscious Discipline. Our program is organized around five developmental domains, offers differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners, is infused into daily routines, and are designed with intention and purpose to move children forward in their development.

Pre-School (36 - 48 months)

The cognitive, physical, and social skills of most developing preschoolers are significantly different from other ages. Recognizing the gap, Early Care and Education has adopted the Frog Street Threes curriculuma, which includes activities developed around early brain development research, well-rounded scope of activities that address all developmental domains, intentional instruction that optimizes key windows of opportunity for growth and development, and social and emotional emphasis featuring Conscious Discipline.

Pre-Kindergarten

The award-winning Frog Street Pre-K curriculum focuses on the Texas Pre-K guidelines for Kindergarten readiness. It is a comprehensive, research-based program that integrates instruction across developmental domains and early learning disciplines. All children practice Conscious Discipline to help support and learn social and emotional skills, proven to set children up for life-long success in the classroom.
